Lockerby Highlanders – Robbie Burns

2018 Poppy Campaign

Thank You

While it’s easy to say thank you, it doesn’t readily express the deep gratitude that Lockerby Legion feels for the support during the 2018 Poppy Campaign.  To the volunteers who took part in tag days or the countless businesses that provided space for a poppy box to be displayed, facilitating donations and distribution of poppies in the community, we couldn’t do it without you!

The support of the community for this campaign has been extraordinary. Thank you, everyone!  This short-term campaign provides funds needed to support Veteran’s services as well as much needed services for the Community and Bursaries for Veteran families children and grandchildren. Please know that your contributions are most appreciated!

Ladies Auxiliary 60th Anniversary with Branch 564

The Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 564 celebrated their 60 years of service to the Lockerby Legion in September 2018.

Of the six founding members of the auxiliary, three celebrated their 60 years.  Only one of those members was in attendance for the celebration, however.

Jean (Gouchie) Knight, one of the six founding members of the Ladies Auxiliary attended the celebration of 60 years of service.

Tables were decorated with red and white topiaries donated in memory of one of the founding members, who passed away 3 years ago, Loretta Thompson.
